This is an online event for parents of children living in the Bi-borough or professionals working in schools in the Bi-borough (Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Council).
In this training, we will explore the common challenges that children may face when it comes to eating. We will discuss how sensory and functional difficulties can impact a child's development of eating skills, and how parents and caregivers can support children in overcoming these challenges.
During this session, we will cover:
- Common challenges children may face when it comes to eating
- Sensory and functional difficulties and how they can impact a child's eating skills
- Strategies and interventions for addressing sensory difficulties
- Information on tools and environment modifications
Outcome
By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of why the child you are supporting may avoid certain foods, have a restricted diet or difficulties with feeding themselves. You will also have some strategies to try with the child or children you are supporting, or information about where you can seek professional support if this is required.
